Specialty Acute / Medically Complex Care
Specialty Acute/Medically Complex Care refers to patients who need extended hospitalization care due to their medically complex conditions. Sometimes referred to as acutely critically ill, these patients often require multiple concurrent care modalities such as: ventilator care, intravenous therapy, nutritional support, tube feedings, antibiotic management, dialysis and complex wound / skin care management.
Specialty Acute Care patients often require several weeks, and even months of hospitalization. Our goal for these patients is to:
- meet the challenge of successfully managing the patient’s complex conditions,
- facilitate the healing process, and
- achieve the recapture of the patient’s physical abilities and mental wellness for the purpose of a successful return to the home environment
Our Specialty Acute program is staffed with Registered Nurses and Respiratory staff that are trained and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
