Pulmonary Program
Trillium Specialty Hospital offers a comprehensive array of respiratory care services with a special emphasis on therapeutic mechanical ventilator weaning. Unlike the traditional acute care respiratory therapist, our staff is specially trained to wean patients who were previously considered “unable to wean” from mechanical ventilation. Using incremental steps, we transition from ventilator to tracheotomy, and then from tracheotomy to the final stage of pulmonary independence where no artificial device is required to breathe. This process takes a team effort under the direction of the attending physician and Pulmonologist. Other highlights of our Pulmonary Program include:

- 24 Hr Respiratory Care Staff (all ACLS certified)
- All modes of mechanical ventilation (including Bipap and Cpap)
- Bedside Bronchoscopy
- In house lab capabilities including arterial blood gas
- Management of Endotracheal (ET) tube airway
- Percutaneous Tracheotomy
- Basic PFT’s (Pulmonary function testing)
- SVN (Small Volume Nebulizer) Therapy
- CPT (Chest Percussion Therapy) Treatment
- Oxygen Therapy
